The bathroom reno is almost done. In the last 2 months I haven’t done very much quilting but during the renovation process we removed a closet in order to make the bathroom bigger. Guess what I found. A UFO. A bag of fabric that was there for almost 2 years – everything needed to make a Lil’ Twister quilt. The inspiration to make it came back. All I needed to do was cut some 5″ black squares to go along with the charm packs.
Then I laid it out and chain stitched the squares together.
It’s quite pretty, don’t you think?
But I am only half done. Now I have to cut it up …
And put it back together again.
This just might be called my Humpty Dumpty quilt. Well, that will be next week’s job, along with the back.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. Have a creative week.
I held my breath. It’s just beautiful! Very beautiful!
Congratulations for the beautiful work. Wow!
Thank you Eglea. Still a long way to go before it is done…
Wow. What a difference it makes by cutting and resewing. I love it.
It was kinda hard to make the first cut!
Wow. I had no idea that was how you do Twister pattern quilts. Interesting concept. I guess you need a special ruler though to line up the blocks before you cut the twister.
No special ruler before the Twister. Just 5″ squares or charm packs. I can lend you the twister ruler.
I love the colours of that quilt. I have a spot where it would be perfect! 🙂
Ha. Not sure I need it but I loved the fabric and couldn’t decide on one colour so had to go with 4.
Did you post who won your quilt giveaway last month?
Yes I did. It was mafontaine.
Beautiful colors – the black makes them ‘pop’! And the Twister process is very cool!
Don’t know if you can see but the charm pack had metallic highlights. It was hard to decide on a background. Glad the black is ok.
I love it. But I also loved it before you started cutting it.
Me too. I was tempted to leave it but thought NO, I’m sticking with the pattern. Unlike a recipe. Lol.
don’t you just love finding treasures
Sure do! That’s why we buy extra. Lol.
