February’s theme is: “Looking out my Front Door”.
We made it around the world in our very first month of the 1 Million Mile Quilted Postcard Challenge! 3 countries, 4 Provinces and 4 States; a total of 33,000 miles. Here are some of the places our postcards went: New York, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Kelowna, Grande Prairie, Calgary, Ottawa, Winnipeg and New Zealand. How far is it around the world? A mere 25,000 miles (rounded off).
Here is a card I received from Arizona. Isn’t it great? We all know what happened the day this card was made. Marnie made cards to mark the passing of David Bowie and stated”some might say this was the day the music stopped.”
Another card came from Florida. Virginia was ahead of the game! She posted the view outside her window even before we announced the February theme.
How far can we go in February? What countries, provinces, states can we add to our list? Our theme is “Looking Out My Front Door”. What captures your attention when you look out your front door? Sky? Mountains? Trees? Water? Houses? A city skyline?
I am excited about making the February cards – something along the winter in Winnipeg line. Do you want to play along? I would love to know what you see when you look out your front door. On the other hand, you don’t have to follow my theme or even send a card to me. The miles from any card can count in the 1 Million Mile Challenge. The rules are simple. To qualify as a quilted postcard it must consist of 3 layers (fabric front and back, with a stiff center), and it must have at least 2 stitches. Otherwise, feel free to be creative. Visit my Quilted Postcard tab for ideas and more procedures.
On another note, you may remember that one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to “search for art everyday”. That has actually been more difficult than I anticipated, but here is one picture I took in January. What is it? That is the question. The answer will be on the February postcards. I will also include the answer here when I post February’s design on the last Wednesday of the month.
If you want a card, if you have a comment, or if you sent a card you want included in the 1 million mile challenge, send me a comment. I would love to hear from you. As usual, any comment with personal information is kept confidential and will not be posted.
Have a great day and a creative week. Thanks for stopping by.
